Command Chief Master Sergeant, CMSgt Brian Bender has been a member of the Texas State Guard since 2002. He served in the 401St Air Support Group as the Senior Enlisted Manager. Then was assign to the Dallas - Ft. Worth area to help establish the TXSG - 401st Honor Guard which later became the 4th Air Wing (AW) Honor Guard. In September 2006 he was assigned as the 4th AW Administration Chief. January 2008 he was laterally promoted to serve as the 4th AW Command Chief Master Sergeant. CMSgt Bender served 22 1/2 years in the Navy and retired a Chief Petty Officer on May 31, 1998. During this time his noteworthy assignments included serving as an Aircraft Mechanic; Plane Captain; Jet Engine Mechanic; Aircraft Transport Logistics Scheduler; Spec Warfare Combat Flight Chief; Training Chief; Reserve Program Manager; and JAG Investigator.
