CMSgt Norman J. King


Chief Master Sergeant Norman J. King is the Operations NCO, Headquarters Air Division Texas State Guard, Camp Mabry, Texas.

The chief entered the active duty Air Force in 1967 after graduating from high school. He was assigned to 70th Security Police Squadron, 70th Bomb Wing (SAC) at Clinton-Sherman AFB Oklahoma as an aircraft security specialist. He continued to serve in the Security Police career field with assignments to Cam Rahn Bay AB, Vietnam, Sheppard AFB, Texas and Ellington AFB, Texas. In 1972, Chief King cross-trained into the Meteorology career field. He was assigned to Det 11, 24th Weather Squadron, Reese AFB, Texas. Chief King left active duty in 1975.

Chief King enlisted in the Texas State Guard in June 2001 at the 449th Air Support Group, Lackland AFB, Texas. He has served with the HQ 4th Air Wing, 401st Air Support Group, Operation Border Star (Laredo) and HQ Air Division at Camp Mabry.
